Gospel choir presents evening of music

The AU gospel choir—pictured here performing in their January 2004 celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s 75th birthday—will perform at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Greenberg Theatre.

Visiting Writers Series: Poetry and Psychoanalysis with Alicia Ostriker and Arlene Kramer Richards
1:30–5 p.m., Ward 1 Auditorium. This conference focuses on how emotional life can block poetry and how deep psychoanalytic understanding can release the poetic mind. Ostriker will present “The Space of This Dialogue,” a paper which includes readings from her most recent book of poems, The Volcano Sequence, while Richards will present “Poetry and Psychoanalysis: A Measured Passion.” Registration is required.
