ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Position Requirements: Excellent organization, good judgment, ability to multitask, attention to detail, 50 wpm, own transportation, flexibility, and customer service experience. Description: Incumbent will support fast-paced, 23-person publications office. Responsibilities include general office management, publications support (e.g. transportation, publication distribution), and photography support (e.g. coordinating the processing, storage, and retrieval of digital images, photo research, ordering prints).

LIBRARY ASSOCIATE

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Position Requirements: Good customer service skills, ability to be assertive, exercise good judgment, and problem solve. Attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with the Library of Congress classification system, knowledge of campus facilities and locations, and library experience preferred. Description: Library monitor will ensure the security and well-being of library patrons, employees, and the library collection by monitoring conditions and activities throughout the library. Other responsibilities include opening and closing the building, enforcing library policies, responding to emergency situations, shelving books, staffing library service desks, and providing accurate information to library patrons.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE ADMISSIONS

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree in social sciences desirable, or bachelor’s degree with five-plus years relevant experience. Description: This position coordinates and supervises the evaluation and processing of international graduate applications; advises and assists students, faculty, and potential applicants on academic requirements and degree qualifications; plans, develops and implements annual recruitment and international travel activities.

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Position Requirements: One year of work experience in related field or equivalent obtained through education and training. High level verbal and written communication skills required. Proficiency with computer and telecommunications equipment, including: word processing, databases, e-mail, fire and security alarm system software. Proficiency with police records management system, police CAD systems, and in responding to alarms. Background check required, and once hired random drug test required. Description: Responds to all emergency and non-emergency telephone calls coming into Public Safety department; determines routing of those calls; coordinates multiple two-way radio communications. Uses intuition, policing skills, and judgment acquired on the job and in informal and formal training to determine priority for action on simultaneously occurring incidents and dispatches university police accordingly. Operates CAD real time tracking in the Automated Records Management System to record and track all university police patrol activities. Integrates and tracks police activities via ARMS Case Management, ARMS Proper Files, Master Name Files, and Vehicle Records databases.

Strong demonstrated interest and experience with public law topics, specifically education law. Excellent organizational, managerial, budgetary skills required. Description: This position reports to the codirectors of the Program on Law and Government. Incumbent will oversee and manage the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, plan all law and government conferences and symposia, participate in academic counseling, mentoring, recruitment, and LL program planning along with fund-raising and development outreach.

Knowledge of stringing is a plus.

Position requires relative autonomy with day-to-day administrative decisions; consultation with director and others on policy decisions.
