Author
reads from sweetly touching novel
Author Lisa Zeidner came to AU for a fiction reading sponsored
by the MFA Program in Creative Writing, reading excerpts from
her acclaimed novel Layover. The Washington Post has described
the 1999 novel about a traveling saleswoman who cons her way
into free hotel rooms as zesty, funny and sweetly touching,
while The Chicago Tribune says it has has a terrific,
unforced edginess and power . . . [with] moments when [Zeidner]
simply rips out your heart and hands it to you. The Washington-born
Zeidner is the author of four novels and two books of poems.
She teaches at Rutgers University, where she directs the graduate
program in English.
