ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL CAMPAIGNS, DIRECT MARKETING

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in training and experience required. Minimum of two years experience in annual giving for educational institutions or nonprofit organizations preferred. Experience with direct marketing, with an emphasis on telephone and mail is highly desirable. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office required. Experience with SmartCall telemarketing software helpful. Clear, concise reporting and writing style. Mature and professional attitude; energetic, detail oriented. Excellent organizational skills and highly developed interpersonal skills required. Description: Responsible for the fulfillment program of the Annual Campaigns office and the back office operations for the phonathon. The fulfillment program includes writing, printing and mailing reminders, confirmation and refusal letters and electronic communications on a weekly and monthly basis. The incumbent is responsible for the design and implementation of the systems and procedures which support AU’s phonathon, including supervision of clerical staff, payroll of student employees, running the research department to update phone numbers and downloading prospects from Benefactor to SmartCall.

WORD PROCESSOR OPERATOR

Educational Requirements: High school diploma. Position Requirements: High school degree or GED required. College degree preferred. Administrative experience required. This job requires both analytical and social skills. Proficiency in basic computer applications is essential; politeness, punctuality, and an overall affable disposition are imperative. Must be able to work in a diverse, multicultural environment. Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. Description: Provides administrative support for faculty, staff, and students within the School of International Service and acts as the primary contact person for all inquiries into the school. Reports directly to the department’s budget coordinator–office manager and is directly responsible for the daily supervision (during the academic year) of two to three work-study students.

Position Requirements: Five to seven years experience in grants management, project coordination, research, and public communication, with mid- to top-level executives. Development experience preferred. Web site writing and production skills and experience. Ability to deal appropriately with confidential matters. Must have excellent word processing skills and database and other computer software application programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and basic HTML. Excellent and highly professional written and oral communication skills are essential. Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills required. Description: With limited supervision, this position assists the dean in providing leadership for and overseeing the operations of the Office of the Dean, and assists the dean in developing initiatives for institutes, projects, and campaigns.
