Celebrating Scholarship
Join the library on Friday, Oct. 21, for three special presentations by AU faculty members as they discuss their recently published books and the stories behind them. This fall’s honorees include Brian Forst for his book Errors of Justice, Nature, Sources and Remedies, Helen Langa for Radical Art: Printmaking and the Left in 1930s New York, and Sabhiya Prince for Constructing Belonging; Class, Race, and Harlem’s Professional Workers.

Celebrating Scholarship is a biannual event hosted by the AU Library and the Friends of AU Library. This fall’s event, held in conjunction with Alumni and Family Weekend, takes place at 2 p.m. in the Kay Spiritual Life Center with refreshments following outside, in the front of Kay.

Visual messaging introduced
Finding out which library classes are being taught and where, catching the current weather report, or getting a glimpse of the latest news is now easier for library users. Two new 42-inch plasma screens greet visitors to the Bender Library and Anderson Computing Complex. These visual messaging systems offer multiple content windows using slides, data feeds, text crawl, or video signals. They can simultaneously announce system alerts, news programs, and breaking events on campus or in the world. Screenshots can also be delivered to up to 100 individual workstations throughout the library or computer labs.
