Homeland security advisor to speak at Roger Jones Award ceremony
Frances Fragos Townsend, a School of Public Affairs (SPA) alumna and homeland security advisor to President Bush, will give the keynote address at this year’s presentation by SPA of the Roger Jones Award for Executive Leadership. The award, which “recognizes public servants in the federal government whose careers are marked by extraordinary effectiveness in organizational development and a strong commitment to training and educating managers and executives,” will be presented Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Kay Spiritual Life Center.
This year’s award recipients are Marvin Gunn Jr., manager, Chicago Operations Office, Department of Energy; and Sheila Earle, acting principal director for military personnel policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.
