2005 Second Annual Seminar on International Commercial Arbitration
9 a.m.–5 p.m., location TBD. Through 15 Sept. This seminar will focus on a mock arbitration case related to a construction dispute conducted under the international arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. During the seminar, faculty will offer strategies and tactics for successfully conducting international arbitration cases. Contact 274-4321.

Training Opportunity: Improving Performance Through Empowerment
1–5 p.m., location TBD. Participants will learn how to coach employees to make decisions, encourage them to grow by confronting areas of weakness, and allow them the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them. CIVITAS Week offers 19 events
A blood drive, an international festival, a yoga session, and a wellness fair highlight CIVITAS Week, AU’s annual celebration of civility. The festivities, which kick off Sunday with a screening of Pay It Forward at 9 p.m. in Ward 2, run through Friday, Sept. 23.

During the week, the AU community is encouraged to participate in nearly 20 events, from lectures to an ice cream social.

At noon on Thursday, the Center for Teaching Excellence will host a discussion about civility in the classroom for faculty in Hurst Hall 210. Later that day, at 3:30 p.m., students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in a sand volleyball tournament at the Jacobs Recreation Complex courts. Preregistration is required.
