Peace and conflict resolution celebrates 10 years

One hundred guests attended a dinner at the official residence of the Yemeni ambassador Thursday night to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution Division. SIS dean Louis Goodman, at podium, was surprised with an award for his 20 years of distinguished service at the helm of SIS. Professor Abdul Aziz Said, seated, founded the Peace and Conflict Resolution Division. Departing professors Mitchell Hammer and Abdul Karim Bangura also were honored. Master’s students Jamie Alvis and Sarah Jakiel won the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Scholarship Award and will receive $1,000 each. —MU
