Katzen opens doors to young artists during inaugural Kids Day
The AU Museum will hold is first Kids at the Katzen Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 22.
The event features Puerto Rican photographer Norma Quintana, whose exhibition, Forget Me Not/No Me Olvides, runs through May 7 at the Katzen. Quintana will discuss what her work means to her and help youngsters think about themselves as portrait subjects.
Each child will have his or her picture taken and will decorate a frame. Quintana will work with the kids to create their own Katzen-worthy masterpiece.

Freshman Day to draw admitted students
Fall 2006 admits and their families will get an inside look at life at AU during Freshman Day, Friday, Apr. 21.
Incoming students can learn more about academics, financial aid, internships, athletics, clubs, and student organizations. Campus tours will be offered, and visitors can also enjoy lunch with faculty and current students.
The event “brings the entire AU community out in full force to welcome newly admitted students,” said Sharon Alston, director of admissions. “And our success rate indicates that, as a campus, we are an excellent recruiting team.”
Freshmen Day kicks off with a breakfast at 8 a.m.; participants should check in first at Bender Arena. The program runs until 4:30 p.m.
