Bender is Philled

A week dedicated to beating Holy Cross was capped off in fine fashion Friday night as both the men’s and women’s basketball teams thumped the visiting Crusaders in front of a raucous Bender Arena crowd. The women’s team opened things up with a dominating 81-65 win, and the men followed with a 65-51 victory to sweep the season series. The win marked Jeff Jones’s 200th as a head coach, and he credited the painted, pumped-up crowd of about 3,200 for setting the evening’s tone. “I could tell by the look of our guys tonight, that they were into the game,” Jones said. “I think the crowd and the atmosphere really helped us tonight.”
