INFORMATION SYSTEMS COORDINATOR

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. Position Requirements: Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications required. Current knowledge of D.C. immunization requirements and of general provisions of HIPAA regulations preferred. Description: Responsible for ensuring all information technology and record-keeping systems effectively support health center operations and are compliant with relevant Privacy Act(s) and HIPAA law. Acts as primary IT liaison with other AU departments and divisions, external software and hardware vendors, as well as any IT consultants or trainers. Also responsible for ensuring staff is trained on existing and new computer applications and maintaining all immunization data for AU students and ensuring compliance with applicable local and federal regulations.

LIBRARY SPECIALIST

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Position Requirements: The position requires a high level of competence in working with spreadsheets, word processing programs, and the Internet as well as basic understanding of information technology systems, including networks and Internet browsers. Applicants must demonstrate good written and interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, initiative, and desire to learn. Experience in libraries, including knowledge of the acquisitions process for serials and knowledge of cataloging practices, is preferred. Description: The position assists the electronic resources librarian in the management of the library’s electronic resources, including journals, databases, and aggregate collections. This position is primarily responsible for tracking and maintaining e-journal collections for the ALADIN system and providing general support for the maintenance and use of e-collections, via ALADIN, BlackBoard’s LinkMaker function, and the Institutional Repository D-Space software. The position also collects, organizes, manages, and tracks statistics on usage; creates and maintains bibliographic access; and helps troubleshoot e-resource problems.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT SPECIALIST

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree, majoring in justice administration or related or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in judicial administration, law, or a related field. Position Requirements: Minimum of two years of experience in research or operational support of a program of technical assistance to communities or justice agencies relating to public policy or social service issues (preferably relating to justice administration, law, or a related field). Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and demonstrated analytical ability in interpreting data and communicating findings dealing with the specialized subject matter of technical assistance delivery to justice system agencies. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively to an audience of senior public officials. Knowledge of word processing and relational database software and current proficiency in WP/Windows, Word, Paradox, and Excel. Knowledge of fiscal and programmatic reporting requirements of federal government-sponsored projects, particularly those of the Department of Justice. Description: This position plans, coordinates, and monitors the provision of technical assistance services and participates in both on-site and office-based technical assistance to state and local units of government for U.S. Department of Justice–sponsored justice system technical assistance projects. It involves frequent communication with senior practitioners and elected officials and substantial data gathering, coordination, and compilation and analysis of operational and evaluative data.

VOLUNTEER-MEMBER SERVICES COORDINATOR

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Position Requirements: Minimum two years experience in volunteer management, personnel recruiting, or special events coordination. Mature interpersonal and written and oral communications skills necessary. Ability to work diplomatically and effectively with people. Working knowledge of spreadsheets and database programs. Familiarity with membership management systems especially helpful. Fund-raising experience required; previous public radio development experience preferred. This position has nonstandard hours: some weekend and evening work is required. Description: This position holds primary responsibility for administering WAMU’s year-round volunteer program and provides logistical support to the station for individual giving campaigns, community outreach programs, and fund-raising events. Coordinates the activities of more than 500 volunteers, many of whom participate in the station’s on-air membership campaigns. Manages major donor and volunteer recognition events and awards. Responsible for maintaining WAMU member and bluegrasscountry.org premium inventory, and serves as primary staff liaison with fulfillment service providers. Identifies and negotiates with area hospitality businesses to solicit in-kind contributions of products and services required to conduct WAMU events. Expected to carry out responsibilities with minimal day-to-day supervision once broad general guidelines are established.
