WCL hosted its largest Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition May 20 through 25. A record 61 teams from the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe participated in the twelfth annual competition, sponsored by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

Argentina’s Universidad de Cuyo took first place for the second consecutive year. The winning students will be given internships at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica.

On May 24, Dean Claudio Grossman hosted the executive secretaries of the Inter-American Court and the Inter-American Commission for a special panel on the future of the Inter-American human rights system.

Conducted in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, the program is the only trilingual competition dedicated to the Inter-American human rights legal system.
