After spending a summer in Germany as a student, School of International Service (SIS) alumna Sherry Mueller ’65 developed a great affection for both the country and her host family. Thus, when SIS dean Louis Goodman chose to honor Mueller—at an embassy of her choice— she knew just the place.

Mueller, president of the National Council for International Visitors, was recognized during the SIS 49th anniversary celebration, Apr. 12, at the German embassy. A new member of the SIS Dean’s Advisory Council and founder of the SIS alumni chapter, Mueller was praised for her commitment to her alma mater. Mueller regularly hires SIS interns and frequently serves on career panels; she’s also served as an adjunct professor at SIS, where she taught courses on U.S. public diplomacy.

More than 100 people turned out for the event. Above, Dean Goodman, Lobna Ismail ’84, and Sherry Mueller ’65. —AF
