The Kogod School of Business and College of Arts and Sciences have announced the formation of a new joint undergraduate degree program, the BS in business administration and language and culture studies.

The new degree path will be a Kogod program. Students’ degrees will be awarded by Kogod, although students will be counted as majors for both Kogod and CAS. Each school will appoint one codirector for the BS program.

“This is a really unique opportunity to play to a lot of different schools’ strengths,” said Jesse Boeding, Kogod’s director of undergraduate programs.

Language professor Nadia Harris also praised the program in a letter of support sent to the provost.

“This interdisciplinary degree program recognizes the need for strong language skills in the business world and supports our goal of enhancing our students’ ability to communicate with native speakers of the languages we offer by increasing their level of functional proficiency.” —MU
