Registrar introduces automated wait list

The registrar’s office has introduced a new automated wait-list process that will enable students to enroll in closed sections as space becomes available.

Beginning with fall 2008 registration, students may place their names on a wait list for closed sections. When space becomes available, an e-mail will be sent to the first student on the list, who will have 24 hours to register for the course. If the student fails to register for the wait-listed course, the space will go to the next eligible student.

The wait list is available on the my.american portal, under “course registration.”

The registrar’s office welcomes feedback on the new process. Students may share their experiences by e-mailing registrar@american.edu.
