Web site launched for campus input on strategic plan
It’s all about feedback from across the campus, Bill DeLone, Kogod professor and chair of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee, said at the committee’s meeting last week. Campus input in developing President Neil Kerwin’s Strategic Plan for American University will come from town hall meetings, campus constituency meetings, and round-table discussions.
It will also be gathered via a newly launched Web site www.american.edu/strategicplan, which DeLone urged faculty, staff, and students to use to make proposals, debate ideas, and blog about the direction AU should take.
“This is a constituency-based process,” DeLone said, calling the ideas presented by the university community, as well as the broad-based discussions taking place over the next few weeks, “critical to the success” of the new plan.
The next town hall meeting, scheduled for the University Club in the McDowell Formal Lounge, will be Monday, Apr. 28, 4–5:30 p.m. Food will be served. RSVP to strategicplan@american.edu by noon Friday, Apr. 25.
