Provost candidates come to campus
Four candidates for the provost position have been invited to visit campus this month.
There were more than 100 applications and nominations for the job. Following careful review, 11 candidates were invited to meet with both the search committee and President Neil Kerwin. Based on those interviews, four candidates have been invited to visit the campus:
- Apr. 10–11: Scott Bass, vice president for research and dean of the graduate school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County
- Apr. 14–15: Ivy Broder, interim provost, American University
- Apr. 15–16: Robert Thompson Jr., dean, Trinity College, Duke University
- Apr. 17–18: Charles Johnson, dean of liberal arts, Texas A&M University
Details of the individual visits will be posted shortly at american.edu. Faculty, students, staff, and administrators will have an opportunity to meet with each candidate, both in small groups and in an open meeting with the campus community.
