The quad put on its AU colors to give the basketball team a spirit-filled send-off, thanks to the spray-paint artistry of Marc Rillera and Nick Gammill of the Grounds department. They designed the NCAA logo, which is used through the athletics seasons, but “a lot of it was on-site layout. They’re quite talented in being able to visualize before they spray,” said Mark Feist, assistant director, Facilities Management. The department was contacted by student government, “and we were happy to participate to add to the enthusiasm and excitement,” Feist said. —SA
