Environmental film festival fills screens

Washington, D.C., is in the midst of the 11-day Environmental Film Festival, and once again, AU’s Center for Environmental Filmmaking is cohosting numerous screenings and discussions.

Several films are directed or produced by School of Communication (SOC) faculty associated with the center. Two of these are IMAX films, The Alps: Giants of Nature and Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, that feature the work of Chris Palmer, director of the Center for Environmental Filmmaking and a member of the festival’s advisory committee.

Another cohosted screening is the world premiere of American Prairie Reserve, directed by SOC professor Larry Engel and produced by Sandy Cannon-Brown, who also teaches at SOC.
