WCL ranked by Hispanic Business magazine

Washington College of Law has been named the fifth-best law school in the nation for Latino students by Hispanic Business magazine.

“WCL has always believed that diversity is essential to its educational mission: engaging the community, the nation, and the world through legal education,” Dean Claudio Grossman said in a statement. “The diversity of the WCL community contributes to rich class discussion, excellent clinical experience, and vibrant research.”

Eleven percent of WCL students are Latino. Among the offerings that make the school appealing to Latino students are nine courses in Spanish during its Summer Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law; an annual Human Rights Moot Court Competition presented in English, Spanish, and Portuguese; a summer study abroad program in Chile; a dual degree program in Spain; and its International Arbitration Program, which offers programming in Spanish.

The rankings appear in the September 2007 edition of the magazine. To see the complete list, log on to www.hispanicbusiness.com.
